Pharmaceutical production: Switzerland first in Europe, Italy first in the EU

Nonostante la produzione farmaceutica svizzera risulti la prima in Europa, con un fatturato di oltre 46 miliardi di euro nel 2018, l’Italia si attesta come il più grande produttore farmaceutico dell’UE, con un fatturato di 32 miliardi di euro nel 2018, superando la Germania, secondo le stime dell’associazione Farmindustria.

In the last five years, thanks to a growth in Italian production of + 20%, there has been a strong development of exports. From 1997 to 2018, they went from 4.5 to 26 billion euros.

Nel primo semestre 2019 si sono registrati degli importanti contributi positivi alla crescita dell’export farmaceutico italiano; in particolare i mercati trainanti per le vendite italiane di farmaci sono la Svizzera, la Germania e la Francia.

Switzerland recorded a +13.7% trend in euro, bringing the annual cumulative to over 2.7 billion euro, thanks above all to the performance of the industries of the Lombardy and Campania regions
