Fedaisf. Press release on ISF vaccination

RELEASE

From some letters received in the editorial staff we are asked to take an official position of Fedaiisf on the issue of anti-Covid vaccines for ISF.

The vaccination and green pass issue has taken on ideological and political aspects that transcend science. The reasoning we will make is not political, even if there will always be someone who misunderstands, and it does not concern individual people even if it is not conceivable that an ISF does not have faith in vaccines.

An Association of Pharmaceutical Representatives can only be in favor of vaccinating all ISFs. The ISF, as is their institutional task, must only refer to scientifically based treatments of proven efficacy based on scientific knowledge acquired and officially certified by the regulatory and control bodies.

Even if the vaccine doesn't cover 100% (no drug is effective at 100%) it's the only means we have available to prevent contagion.

The ISFs, due to the work they carry out, are obliged to work in presence in all healthcare environments and structures, from the general medicine clinic to the university clinic. All environments at risk of contagion. It is therefore consequential to implement everything that is available to prevent contagion, such as personal protective equipment, distancing and above all vaccination. Studies on healthcare personnel show that the 90% of vaccinated people does not infect and if it does infect it in very low doses, it transmits a mild and almost always asymptomatic infection.

The European drug agency, EMA, has used the tool of "conditional approval" (one of the mechanisms to facilitate early access to medicines) and not emergency approval as the FDA did in the beginning (now c 'is final approval), so the indications for the four vaccines currently in use in Europe are final. The four approved vaccines have completed all three of the canonical experimental phases required by the EMA and AIFA. As with all other 1,000+ approved products over 25 years. The only conditions imposed by Ema concern guarantees regarding the quality of the product. Today 5 billion people have been vaccinated, talking about an experimental phase is ridiculous.

And the green certification, the so-called "green pass", is nothing more than a timed certification of vaccination, or of having tested negative for a molecular or rapid swab in the previous 48 hours or of having recovered from COVID-19 in the six months previous.

We do not want to go into further technical/scientific considerations because this is not the place. What has been said is enough for us to say what the official position of Fedaiisf is.
