In recent days, the Ministry of Health, led by Roberto Speranza, and the Italian Medicines Agency have filed an appeal to theState Councilagainst the order with which the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, on 4 March, had established that doctors in the treatment of coronavirus positive patients could "prescribe the drugs they deem most appropriate according to science and conscience" without necessarily following the Aifa protocols which provide that home care is based on the administration of paracetamol and watchful waiting.
Well, the Council of State accepted the appeal of the Ministry of Health and Aifa, in relation to the suspension of the effectiveness of the provision of the Tar, on the administration of the paracetamol (tachypirine) and on the observance of "watchful waiting", in the home treatment of Covid. Thus the sentence of last March of the TAR which rejected the note of the Italian Medicines Agency of last December 9, containing the "principles of management of Covid-19 cases in the home setting", in the part in which in the first days of SARS-CoV-2 disease has only one "watchful waiting" and administration of NSAIDs and paracetamol and in the part in which it indicates the non-use of all drugs.
Fortunately, the Ordinance also speaks of "science and conscience", so we see that the suspension has been juridically canceled because that note does not change anything, in fact a doctor must always act in science and conscience and use the therapy deemed most appropriate.
