"We are stunned and will act accordingly" so Marco Bacchini, president of Federfarma Veneto, comments on the agreement signed by the Governor of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia and Poste Italiane Spa, with the managing director Massimo Sarmi, which includes, among other things, the booking of specialist visits (CUP Single Booking Center) and the delivery of medicines by post. "If we are not immediately received by the Governor of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia" said Bacchini at the press conference, "we will block all the Cup services that have already been active for years in some areas of the region and in particular in the provinces of Vicenza, Venice, Verona, Treviso and Rovigo (today completely free in some areas). We would not like to do this because it is not right for the weakest citizen to pay the price for a short-sighted policy, but given the circumstances, the future of the Cup service in the pharmacy has little chance of continuing and expanding, as actually required by the national law 69/2009 on the Pharmacy of services. I cannot understand» adds the president of Federfarma Veneto «what is the advantage for citizens given, among other things, the reduced hours of post offices compared to pharmacies and the management of correspondence which between the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 reached incredible values with delays of over two months in delivery». Finally, "if we talk about the economic aspect, I don't understand how this agreement can be favorable to public spending, because I know for sure that Governor Zaia cannot evaluate Poste Italiane's offer as the most favorable given that he did not even want to know what the pharmacies would have been", concludes Bacchini.
