The scandal in Ireland unfortunately amplifies.
It's only been a few days since in Tuam, a town in County Galway, a mass grave was discovered where next to a shelter for single mothers managed until the sixties by the nuns of the “Bon Secours”, the bodies of 796 children were found. Ireland today is once again in shock by the news that in 10 other homes for single mothers, between 1960 and 1976, 298 children were subjected to vaccine trials and 80 children became seriously ill after being accidentally given a livestock vaccine.
“The situation – he says Paul Keenan, editor of the “Irish Catholic” – is at the moment of a lot of confusion. More scandals begin to emerge and people feel that Tuam's story is just the beginning. Then the stories about how the mothers and their children were treated provokes anger. People are furious."
