The seventh season had ended with the official engagement of Penny and Leonard and with the idea of both taking the plunge: getting married. The producer confesses that Penny and Leonard's wedding may not happen.
“In the first episode of the new season (which will air on the small screen starting September 22), Penny will embark on a new career, which will take up a lot of her time and energy. Bernadette helped her get a job as a pharmaceutical representative at her company. She will put her failed acting career on hold for a while.”
