Roche CEO Severin Schwan
The Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche has announced a cost reduction plan for 2011 and 2012, which could also include personnel cuts. The Operational Excellence plan is a response to the reduction of healthcare budgets in the USA and Europe. Details on the figures and any reduction in headcount will be provided before the end of December. According to analysts, the cuts envisaged by the plan, which will mainly affect the sales and research sectors, will allow for savings of between 1.97 and 2.96 billion dollars.
