Since the beginning of 2005, almost 3.5 billion privacy-protecting labels have been produced in Italy to be attached to prescriptions to cover the names of patients, but practically no doctor has ever used them. This was stated by Roberto Carlo Rossi, President of the Milan Medical Association. Wasted public money could have been between 5 and 10 million euros.
