Rome, 19 Oct. (askanews) – The Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin, according to what is learned, has transmitted to the Regions the designation of Professor Mario Melazzini, the new general manager of Aifa, of which he was already president.
The choice of the minister, who is responsible for the appointment, must receive the advisory opinion of the Regions at the State-Regions Conference in order to be made official. In fact, the "opinion on the proposal by the Minister of Health for the appointment of the director general of the Italian Medicines Agency" has been included on the agenda of the State-Regions Conference, convened for tomorrow at 3 pm.
Melazzini replaces Luca Pani, who resigned before the deadline, which expired on 15 November.
