Drugs marketed with adjusted controls, hidden side effects, falsified research with the aim of speeding up or slowing down the verification procedures. These are the charges against which 17 defendants, managers of the Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa), employees of the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical entrepreneurs, will have to defend themselves, indicted on charges of corruption, disclosure and use of official secrets. The investigation, which started in Turin in 2005 following a report by the Nas on the work of Aifa, then moved to Rome for territorial jurisdiction.
