The digitization of animal medicine recipes is underway.
Also for i veterinary drugs the paper recipe will become just a memory: the Ministry of Health in fact, it approved the new computerization rules e digitization also with regards to i medicines intended for animals, therefore made traceable.

An experimentation phase that aims to simplify the traditional process, making it easier: i vets they will simply enter the drug information on a tablet, PC or smartphone, allowing connection with the Database drug central.
The objective of traceability of veterinary medicines is essentially linked to the need to supervise and monitor the consumption of antibiotics, thus countering the problem ofantibiotic resistance.
Lombardy and Abruzzo are part of the experimental phase. The initiative was commented by the Minister Beatrice Lorenzin:
«Computerization in this sector represents a flagship of our country and is part of the wider restructuring project of the applications of the Ministry of Health, which has always been at the forefront in the adoption of new technologies in the veterinary medical field. The goal is to reduce and simplify daily operations through the use of tablets and smartphones. The veterinary prescription and the traceability of the veterinary drug represent some of the priorities that the Government has given itself with the adoption of the 2015-2017 Simplification Agenda which, among the objectives, provides precisely for overcoming the current burden of compilation and transmission paper recipes.
