The confrontation between the Government and the Regions has begun. Within the month of June there will be a verification of the plans for the repayment of the health expenditure overrun presented by the six councils concerned. At that point, as reported by Vasco Errani, President of the Conference of the Regions, work will begin on the elaboration of a new health pact
A meeting was held on June 12 between the Minister of the Economy, Tommaso Padoa Schioppa, the Minister of Health, Livia Turco, the Minister for Regional Affairs Linda Lanzillotta, the President of the Conference of Regions, Vasco Errani, and the Presidents of the Regions of Campania, Abruzzo, Lazio, Molise, the councilor for the budget and the councilor for health of the Liguria Region.
Discussions with the government therefore began this afternoon. Within the month of June, there will be a verification of the plans to repay health expenditure overruns presented by the Regions concerned.
"We will then work quickly, in forced stages - declared the President of the Conference of the Regions, Vasco Errani - for the elaboration of a new healthcare pact, as requested by all the Regions, which will have to be based on adequate funding of the essential levels of assistance and on the responsibility of the Regions. There are therefore the conditions to govern this delicate transition phase in a balanced way”.
