The seasonally adjusted monthly index shows cyclical increases in all the main groupings of industries, with positive changes for energy (+4.6%), capital goods (+2.0%), consumer goods (+1.7%) and intermediate goods (+0.8%).
Adjusted for calendar effects, in November 2021 the overall index increased in trend terms by 6.3% (there were 21 calendar working days as in November 2020). Significant trend increases characterize energy (+12.4%) and consumer goods (+9.4%); the growth for intermediate goods (+4.3%) and capital goods (+3.8%) is more contained.
The sectors of economic activity that register the thehigher trend increases are the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+25.1%), the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air (+13.3%) and the production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (+11.6%). Trend decreases were recorded only in mining activities (-11.0%), in the manufacturing of means of transport (-9.3%) and in the manufacturing of electrical equipment (-1.8%).
