Pharma, heavier salaries.

Salaries are growing in the pharmaceutical sector: in 2010 there was a salary increase of 10-15%, up to peaks of 20%, according to the calculations of the Hays group, listed on the London Stock Exchange and global leader in recruitment specializing in middle and senior management, for Pharmakronos. Also emerging is a new increase, after the crisis encountered in recent years, in the search for drug sales reps by companies. In the Pharma sector, the area where the most people are sought is that of medical management, while in the sector of biomedical devices it is Sales & Marketing. For medical management, in particular, a degree in Medicine and Surgery is essential,

along with a specialization. At the moment, among the most requested are all the specializations related to the respiratory system, virology and cardiology. But companies are also open to evaluating people who come from a different therapeutic area than the one being sought. As far as strictly managerial roles are concerned, the most popular ones in the world of Pharma, again in 2010, are Medical Manager, Medical Liaison and Medical Adviser.

According to Hays, there is also an increase in requests for scientific representatives in the Pharma market. The decline of the last period, linked to the economic crisis that hit the sector, seems to have stopped: the trend is reversing and requests are soaring.

Finally, the most 'lively' companies from the point of view of selection are those belonging to multinational companies specialized in both the pharma world and that of biomedical equipment.
