Court of Auditors, 2014 public finance report: pharmaceutical companies among the most virtuous chapters
The numbers speak for themselves, and seem to say that Pharma represents more of an investment than a cost for the NHS. Among other things, an investment in assets that are anything but insensitive to the economic situation and the demands of the system. Because the pharmaceutical sector – net of certain stubborn inefficiencies, which however seem to occur outside the sector – spends less and spends better. The numbers, contained in the 2014 public finance coordination report of the Court of Auditors, which devotes an entire chapter to healthcare. Health expenditure, in 2013, amounted to 109.3 billion euros, down for the third consecutive year (less than 0.3% compared to 2012). Affiliated pharmaceuticals are among the most "virtuous" chapters, i.e. in significant decline, but the same cannot be said for hospitals, which grows by 7.4%.
