The experimentation of "report cards" for health personnel according to the model of the Brunetta reform is starting. With the signing of a memorandum of understanding signed by the Minister of Public Administration Renato Brunetta, Agenas (National Agency for Regional Services), Formez study training center and Fiaso (Federation of Healthcare and Hospitals), a 7-month trial of the new mechanisms was launched in 17 healthcare companies. Already at the end of 2010 prizes and incentives will no longer be "sprinkled", but assigned only on the basis of merit-based criteria. Among the objectives is the improvement of individual performance, awards for individual merit, greater professional growth. The NHS management unions rise up: it is "unacceptable" not to have been consulted.
