Stem: in mice obtained neurons |
And implanted in the brain, European research |
(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, AUGUST 18 - European researchers have obtained adult neurons from mouse embryonic stem cells and implanted them in the brain of a mouse. Scientists have thus created new possibilities for using stem cells in cell replacement therapies for the treatment of brain diseases. This was revealed by the Belgian journal Le Soir, by interviewing Pierre Vanderhaeghen, who led the team of European researchers in the discovery, whose work was published in the journal Nature. |
