Novartis was fined 48 million francs (Swiss, €44.33 million, ed) in South Korea for granting unauthorized discounts to doctors for prescribing his drugs.
The Seoul Ministry of Health has also suspended for six months the insurance coverage of two preparations of the Swiss group, Exelon and Zometa.
Contacted by the ats Novartis confirmed the announcement made by the Korean authorities and deplored the behavior of employees who did not comply with internal directives. Several employees of the group have been indicted in South Korea.
