Federfarma yesterday warned the Lazio region that if it continues to delay payments for medicines, pharmacies will stop supplying free medicines. «Until today we have been responsible, but if the Lazio Region were to continue to delay payments, which currently amount to around 535 million (compared to an annual expenditure of around 1,200 million), in the end we would no longer be able to guarantee assistance with the consequence that the citizens would pay above all», says a note from Federfarma Lazio, which brings together around 1,500 pharmacies in the region. «Payments are made with now unsustainable delays», says the president Franco Caprino in the note.
