Savona. Gianfranco Pistone and Moreno Cavazzoli, partners of Innovative Pharma, were arrested this morning. In fact, a precautionary custody order was issued against them in prison, signed by the judge of preliminary investigations Fiorenza Giorgi at the request of the prosecutor Daniela Pischetola, who accuses them of corruption and comparison.
According to what has been learned about the arrests, which took place in the context of the investigation opened a few months ago by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the two partners of the pharmaceutical company would have systematically organized a series of favors for doctors from Liguria, from the Savona area, but also from other Regions, for “facilitate” and “invite” the prescription of the types of parapharmaceuticals produced by their company. Fuel vouchers and paid dinners would have been the most popular "gifts" to convince doctors to prescribe their products (all so-called "white" drugs or parapharmaceuticals, therefore freely salable). According to the charges contested in the ordinance, the "electoral" dinners organized by the director of Cairo Salute and municipal councilor of the Valbormidese municipality, Amatore Morando, would also appear among the dinners paid to the Savonese doctors. To prove this circumstance there would be telephone conversations, but, already when the case had exploded, the Cairian city councilor had firmly denied having ever accepted favors from Pistone and Cavazzoli.
The arrests were carried out this morning by the Noe carabinieri after the order signed by the Savonese judge, who decided for the precautionary measure in prison for the two partners of Innovative Pharma. Pistone will be questioned on Wednesday morning, while Cavazzoli will appear before the judge on Friday.
The turning point in the investigation with the probative documentation accrued against the two arrested, in particular the dossier of the Noe in Carcare and, as regards the Pisan office placed under seals for administrative violations, of the Nas. The prosecutor requested the precautionary measure considering that there were serious indications of guilt (against Pistone and the partner there are the results of the searches and various wiretaps), but also the danger of recurrence. According to what was ascertained by the Public Prosecutor's Office, there are correspondences between the increase in prescriptions, and consequently the sale, of Innovative Pharma's drugs and the telephone calls
