Naples, fraud in the pharmaceutical sector. The trial will start in June.
The trial for the alleged fraud for the supply of medicines to Neapolitan hospitals is scheduled for June 18, in which the entrepreneurs Massimo, Carmine and Raffaele Petrone, Campania healthcare executives and managers of important national companies. The Gip Claudia Picciotti ordered the indictment, accepting the request of the prosecutor Francesco De Falco and the deputy prosecutor Alfonso D'Avino. In addition to the Petrones, the managers of Biotest Italia, Giuliano Tagliabue, Renato Carelli and Enrico D'Aiuto, the former administrative director of the Sun hospital, Pasquale Corcione and the current manager of Asl 1 Ernesto Esposito are also accused. In all, 16 people will go to the trial. The charges are of criminal association and bid rigging.
The fact dates back to last November 13th. According to the investigations, between 2009 and 2010, the pharmaceutical companies involved rigged the auctions by agreeing on the discounts to win the tenders, ousting the other companies.
