The protest of doctors in defense of the National Health Service continues. After the start on January 19 in Rome, and the demonstration in Naples on February 4, today the "health dispute" arrives in the North. Doctors, veterinarians, health and administrative managers from the northern regions will meet in Milan to say "no to the destruction of Italian public health"
The medical management unions denounce a «dramatic picture: no response to the needs of citizens and operators; no project for the modernization and safety of the NHS; still inadequate resources; new cuts in hospital beds, which will be 10,000 fewer, and in staff; no response to the scourge of waiting lists, which the Regions unload on doctors; increase in complaints and scandals that show an increasingly widespread connivance between healthcare and malfeasance ", they list. The protest therefore continues, despite the renewal of the contract of the 130,000 doctors and veterinarians of the National Health Service, relating to the 2008-2009 economic two-year period, signed in the night between 9 and 10 February. "Absolutely," says Carlo Lusenti, national secretary of Anaao Assomed, the main trade union of the medical and veterinary management of the NHS, to ADNKRONOS HEALTH. "The dispute goes ahead with the appointments already fixed and indeed - he underlines - the renewal of the contract is the demonstration that if we start on the road, the results will be achieved". The national secretary of the Fp CGIL Medici is also of the same opinion, an acronym which, moreover, has not signed the agreement with Aran. “The dispute does not stop. The general issues of the protest went and go beyond the renewal of the contract. So - he concludes - we have no intention of letting our guard down".
