Will the 2011 Maneuver liberalize band C? According to an article published yesterday by the Sole 24 Ore, it is one of the hypotheses on which the government and the majority are allegedly questioning in view of the presentation of the decree to the social partners, scheduled for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. This would already be enough to make the pharmacy owners shake their wrists, but other reasons for concern also come from the advances of the Maneuver. Among the proposals on Minister Tremonti's table, in fact, there would also be a package of cuts in pharmaceutical spending, both in hospitals - which this year should break through by 2.4 billion euros - and in the area, which instead respects the reference ceiling in a disciplined way. For the latter, in particular, the "perhaps" concern the organization of tenders in the ASL for the purchase of drugs and new measures to encourage the consumption of generics. On the first hypothesis, it is obvious to think that what Tuscany is already doing at a regional level on devices is to be extended nationally: auction tenders at the lowest price with which to admit to reimbursement no more than two or three drugs per active ingredient or therapeutic category. As far as generics are concerned, however, the rumors suggest regulatory interventions to give clarity and homogeneity to substitution in pharmacies (an eventuality that Federfarma would not find against, at least in principle) and perhaps more stringent measures against prescribers. All hypotheses, however, on which clarity should be clarified within a couple of days. Provided that we are not faced with the classic "ballon d'essai", an old expedient of our local politics to "pilot" reactions and counter-proposals in advance.
Zocchi: mystification to talk about deregulation of band C
"It is time for Federfarma to launch an information campaign aimed at the general public to explain what would really happen if class C drugs were deregulated". Among the first to comment on the advances of the Sole 24 Ore on the 2011 Maneuver was Luigi Zocchi, president of Federfarma Varese. Geography has its relevance because the PDL senator Antonio Tomassini, president of the Hygiene and Health Commission of Palazzo Madama, as well as co-signatory of the bill that aims to downsize the Bersani reform of 2006, resides in the Lombard city. What emerges is the image of a majority in an apparent state of confusion, who on the one hand would like to remove pharmacists from parapharmacies and neighborhood businesses and on the other consider an expansion of the 2006 sheets.
President Zocchi, have you read the newspapers? Does the centre-right want to liberalize Band C?
We are certainly experiencing an uncertain and delicate political moment, but I have the impression that the article went a little too far with the forecasts. In any case, the problem is another.
