The examination of the Balduzzi decree, signed yesterday by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, will begin in the Chamber. The social affairs commission, to which it should be assigned, is ready to examine the text as early as next week, between Tuesday and Wednesday, and the rapporteur of the measure will in all likelihood be the PDL group leader in the commission, Lucio Barani. Meanwhile, according to what emerges from a survey conducted by Renato Mannheimer's research institute at the beginning of September on a sample of 800 interviewees, the Italians are appreciative of the provision. Among the measures that have received a better vote (average 8) there is the crackdown on smoking in the lead and in second place the law on the transparency of appointments in health care. However, the creation of the electronic health record (7.7) and the measures against gambling addiction (7.4) also earn a full 7, as does the 24-hour assistance for family doctors (especially appreciated by those who live in the metropolis). In any case, from the interviews it appears that 53% knows, at least by hearsay, the reform, while a 15% not only knows about it but is well informed about it (32% on the other hand has never heard of it). And of these 8 out of ten are «favourable-enthusiastic», approving 4-5 measures, the 18% «favourable-moderate», judging 2-3 positive measures, while only the 1% is respectively little or not favorable. The comment of Health Minister Renato Balduzzi on the survey was positive, showing "an increase in culture and health education".
