The accusation is of corruption, the same as the five scientific informants and the company manager who are also restricted to house arrest. The pediatricians have all been suspended by the competent local health authorities and replacements have arrived in the clinics, some already changed compared to the first few days. In the Facebook group "We want our pediatrician back" members are notified that this morning, from 9 am, a sheet will be posted to collect signatures at the switchboard of the Navacchio di Petri and Ghionzoli clinic.
The leaflet reads: «Our pediatrician has never recommended artificial milk instead of breast milk (because the accusation starts from this, from having plagiarized mothers to stop breastfeeding for artificial milk. If and I say if, did received compensation, he will give back what he owes.. Medical malpractice is something else..." The paper will be brought by some mothers who have promoted the initiative, the same ones who have given their willingness to remain in the clinic to physically collect the signatures.
Other mothers have written on President Enrico Rossi's Facebook wall, urging his interest in favor of paediatricians. However, on social network bulletin boards there is no shortage of those who raise doubts about the work of doctors, referring to a modus operandi that is unfortunately common and tolerated, but no less guilty for this.
According to the judge for preliminary investigations Guido Bufardeci, citing the requests of the public prosecutor Giovanni Porpora in the order, that of benefits "as a counterpart to the prescriptions" is a system "sadly and dangerously widespread at national level and involves, in fact, the entire panorama of pharmaceutical companies, presenting itself as a tried and tested practice». Today in La Spezia (as delegated by the Pisan judge) the chief pediatrician of the local hospital will be questioned, while tomorrow morning the guarantee interrogations of 15 of those arrested in last Friday's blitz are scheduled at the Court of Pisa.
