"At the center of every reform there must be the citizen and not the professional orders" thus Andrea Mandelli (photo), president of Fofi, comments on the words of Mario Falconi, president of the Rome medical association, who in the latest issue of Pharmacist33 had expressed his perplexity about the transformation of pharmacies into "real health houses" while doctors' surgeries become administrative counters for the processing of practices such as sickness certificates and exemptions from co-payment. "There is no intention of usurping the other's skills, but on the contrary the desire to open a real dialogue" replies Mandelli in a conciliatory tone, convinced that only through dialogue and confrontation can progress be made without stealing each other's space. «The law is clear» specifies Mandelli «and meets the evolution of society, also trying to reconcile economic difficulties and to give citizens the answers they expect». The goal is to create a network between all health professions, «a network which» concludes President Fofi «is already active at the local level in many realities and has proven to work». Mandelli spoke on the sidelines of the presentation of the imminent edition of Cosmofarma, starting next Friday 13 May «an edition of great importance» underlines Mandelli «precisely because in a year of change for the profession, which becomes, as indeed already happens in the rest of Europe, the healthcare hub in the area. Now is the time to move on to practice» underlines the president of Fofi «and the Federation will contribute to an edition which to all intents and purposes promises to be an announced success».
