Alfasigma layoffs. Assemblies and strikes. For the ISF, the assemblies will be held next week

Alfasigma, the group recently born from the merger of Alfa Wassermann with Sigma Tau illustrated last week the blood and tears content of its reorganization plan, declaring 456 redundancies of personnel, of which 274 are scientific informants.

Alanno: arms crossed to Alfasigma, ex Wassermann, for a strike called by CGIL, CISL, UIL and Fesica-Confsal.

At the center of the bitter confrontation with the company is the decision of the latter to proceed with the cuts in redundant personnel calculated on the national territory at 456 units. 13 workers at risk in the Alanno plant out of a total of 225 employees. What the unions dispute is the criterion with which the decision was taken, without considering the proposal to relocate the redundant workers to other offices, or to other external companies. A day, therefore, of strike today, organized as follows: abstention from work from 8.00 to 14.00; from 15.00 to 22.00 and from midnight to 6.00.

Alfasigma is a pharmaceutical company born last summer from the merger between important companies such as Alfa Wassermann, Biofutura Pharma and Sigma-Tau, a real giant which currently has around 2000 employees throughout the national territory. From the analyzes carried out, the excellent turnover inherited from Alfasigma would not, however, be sufficient to sustain the challenge with the international market, hence the decision to lighten the expense item linked to personnel. An incomprehensible decision, however, according to the unions who have instead indicated other ways and highlight the contradiction of the precarious and temporary workers who continue to be hired.
