The pharmacists who own parapharmacies "condemn the failure to liberalize class C drugs for pharmacists and join forces with all the professional categories put in difficulty by the choices of this government", with a mobilization planned in Rome, in Piazza Cavour, for 27 February. This was announced by the president of the National Federation of Italian parapharmacies, Davide Gullotta.
"Pharmacists who own parapharmacies, archivists, lawyers from the MGA (national mobilization of lawyers), engineers, architects and surveyors from the Technical Professions Committee: all together we will shout our dissent against the provisions of this government", announces Gullotta.
"The recent liberalizations reward the capital owned and not the professionalism of the pharmacists, much less the educational qualification". The pharmacists who own parapharmacies "don't agree and will say no together with those professional categories who are fighting for tax and social security equality, for the freedom and dignity of the profession".
Assogenerici, liberalization missed opportunity
"The absence from the text under discussion in the Council of Ministers of the repeal of the 'patent linkage' testifies that the Government, despite the announcements, is not quite clear what the obstacles need to be removed to make the pharmaceutical sector effectively competitive". This was stated by Enrique Häusermann, president of AssoGenerici. "A measure - he continues - which has always allowed delaying practices to the detriment of generic manufacturers, but also of the National Health Service and citizens".
