«Investing in people has always been a priority for Janssen. In this difficult moment there are those who are unfortunately forced to cut employees, we want to retrain them and focus on increasing skills". To explain it is Massimo Scaccabarozzi, president and chief executive officer of Janssen Italy, on the occasion of the launch of Janssen Leadership Lab,
Engaged in various therapeutic areas including blood cancers, vaccines, autoimmune, infectious and cardiovascular diseases, Janssen has been present in Italy since 1975. Two offices: one in Latin, intended for production, and one a Cologno Monzese (MI), nerve center of Research and Development and marketing activities.
The training project aimed at 650 employees in Lombardy, Scaccabarozzi clarifies, «it adds to the courses that Johnson & Johnson offers to Group employees with a view to continuous learning, and is designed to involve all employees by covering the needs of various company functions and levels».
Acquiring new skills is always important, but it is all the more so in a moment, like the current one, full of very rapid changes, especially for those who work in the world of health.
«In Janssen – he continues Scaccabarozzi – we are working on a new way of working, which is not just smartworking, previously envisaged by our company. But a different way of working. This is why we decided to make an investment in the most important asset we have, namely people».
The pharmaceutical sector is an important sector for the country's economy, recalls Scaccabarozzi, president of Farmindustria. «We are the sector that exports the most to Italy. During the economic crisis, the country lost production while the pharmaceutical industry grew by 24% in 5 years with a three-digit increase in exports».
