Janssen at your home

The free home delivery service starts in Lombardy, where it will affect over 3,000 patients, to serve more than 18,000 people throughout the country.

Cologno Monzese, 30 April 2020From today about 3,000 Lombard citizens will have an extra service: thanks to "Janssen a Casa Tua", activated in collaboration with the Region, patients will receive the medicines they need directly at home and free of charge. This is the contribution of Janssen Italia, the pharmaceutical company of the Johnson & Johnson Group, to the quality of life of patients in this moment which remains critical.

Oncology, hematology, HIV and pulmonary arterial hypertension are the therapeutic areas in which the company has activated the home delivery service of its orally administered drugs, with the aim of confirming its support to doctors, pharmacists and healthcare professionals in managing the pandemic and putting patients' needs first, especially in a country like ours, so hard hit by the emergency.

In view of the current emergency measures, the project will make it possible to reduce visits to the hospital for the collection of medicines and at the same time will guarantee the safety and continuity of treatment and care of patients suffering from serious pathologies, in full respect of their privacy.

"Janssen a Casa Tua" starts today in the Lombardy Region and will soon be extended to all Regions that want to join the service, with a view to reaching the entire national territory, involving over 18,000 patients. The service will be performed by PHSE srl., a leading company in Italy in the transport of biopharmaceutical products at controlled temperatures in the hospital sector.

The project is part of the close collaboration that has always characterized Janssen in its dialogue with the institutions.

“This home drug delivery service operated by Janssen – underlines theRegional Councilor for Welfare Giulio Gallerait highlights a particular sensitivity towards citizens, especially the most fragile categories, and allows them to avoid travel and face situations of potential risk. The Lombardy Region is strengthening home health activities with the help of telemedicine, tele-monitoring and through a surveillance plan that serves to keep the spread of the virus under control in phase 2 ".

"Thanks to the commitment and teamwork, in just 10 days we signed the contract with the Lombardy Region", he claims Massimo Scaccabarozzi, President and CEO of Janssen Italy. We will not stop, nor have we ever stopped. We are ready to support our patients and our community especially in this complex historical moment and we are confident that this initiative can concretely help people who face the disease every day".

“We are very satisfied with initiatives such as these, which meet people's care needs, with particular attention to frailty. We also hope that initiatives of this kind will inspire a new model of the NHS, closer to the real needs of citizens, and that they will therefore become initiatives of a permanent nature, even outside the current emergency" - he declares Antonio Gaudioso, general secretary of Cittadinanzattiva.
