Index of industrial production

In the month of August In 2010, the index of industrial production adjusted for calendar effects recorded, compared to the same month of the previous year, the most marked increases in the sectors of machinery and equipment nec (plus 35.3 per cent), of the metallurgy and metal products (plus 20.4 per cent), of electrical and non-electrical equipment (plus 18.7 per cent) and ofactivity extractive (plus 16.6 percent). The only negative change regarded the sector of energy supply (minus 3.5 percent).

In the comparison between the first eight months of 2010 and the corresponding period of 2009, the greatest increases concerned the sectors of electrical equipment e not electric (plus 14.1 per cent), dei machinery and equipment nec (plus 10.2 percent), dei chemical products (plus 9.5 percent) and gods computers and products electronics and optics (plus 8.4 percent).

The only negative change concerned themining activity (minus 0.9 percent).

The pharmaceutical sector, in comparison between the first eight months of 2010 and the corresponding period of 2009, had an increase of + 2.6%
