In June 2010, on the basis of the elements available up to now, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index, with base 2005=100, recorded an increase of 0.6 per cent compared to May 2010; the change in the average of the second quarter compared to that of the previous quarter is equal to plus 2.2 per cent.
The production index corrected for calendar effects recorded a trend increase of 8.2 per cent in June (there were 21 working days, as in June 2009), while in the first half of 2010 the change compared to the same period of 2009 was +5.5 per cent (there were 125 working days, against 124 in 2009).
The crude index of industrial production recorded an increase of 8.1 percent compared to June 2009. In comparison with the trend relative to the first six months, the index increased by 6.2 percent.
The pharmaceutical sector saw a slight decrease in June 2010 compared to May of the same year and in the second quarter 2010 compared to the first. Instead there was an increase in June 2010 on June 2009 and an increase of +4.1 in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period of 2009
