Grünenthal employees donate the prize to the refuge in Sicily in memory of the murdered girl
She was stabbed by her ex-partner: "His story impressed us"

It all started one October morning last year. “I read Giordana's story in the newspapers, her vicissitudes, her little girl Asia, her mother-grandmother Vera who had been raising her for five years and who was 
forcibly funds to make her daughter's dream come true, and I was in terrible pain and cried".
He was with his children, Amber Tessera (in the photo on the right), trade unionist of Filctem Cgil Milano, when one of them hearing the story went up to his room and emptied his piggy bank: "I don't know if it's enough mom but I want to give my contribution".
It was at that point that the light bulb went on for Ambra Tessera, "let's do something" she said to herself. And from here came the impulse to realize the dream of Giordana Di Stefano, killed in Nicolosi (Catania) at the age of 20 with 48 stab wounds in the night between 6 and 7 October 2015, the day before the start of the trial. from the ex who didn't give her a break, persecuted her and that she had already denounced.
She dreamed of a Jordanian refuge, for abused women who don't know where to turn and don't know where to go for help in their pain. And now, thanks to the commitment of the trade unionist and the employees of the Milanese pharmaceutical company Grünenthal, it will become a reality.
Part of the prize awarded to the workers of the company in via Carlo Bo was destined for social responsibility projects, and the Casa di Giordy was chosen as the destination of the funds. Twenty thousand euros last year, as many this year and ten thousand euros were donated by the company out of its own pocket to build a shelter on the slopes of Etna that can help ten women and their children, with a specialist desk ready to support who needs.
An enlightened and innovative way of doing trade unionism, which was born from a trade union agreement signed by Filctem Cgil, Femca Cisl and Uiltec Uil in Assolombarda, which has two avant-garde points "to support a preparatory cultural development to improve our society to bring it towards models of solidarity and attentive to the needs of the weakest": the possibility for each worker to allocate 1 percent of their participation bonus, which is then doubled by the company, and to donate a fixed amount of 200 euros per year for social welfare. So in 2020 the first check went out, and this year the second is about to come off.
“It is participatory industrial relations that can generate virtuous agreements of this magnitude” says Ambra Tessera. The company with Luigi Uccella, head of human resources of Grünenthal Italia, adds that “the fight against violence against women is a phenomenon that concerns and involves the sensitivity of each of us. It must be a commitment to choose even small helping actions that will make a difference as a whole".
The year before she died, on November 25, 2014, precisely on the World Day against Violence against Women, Giordana wrote on Facebook: "Have the strength to help those who need to be helped and maybe, if we could all do it, it wouldn't happen more. Maybe it's a dream, but to make it come true, you have to act". Someone has now acted for her and for other women.

Jordan's story
It's 2010 when Giordana Di Stefano meets the man she believes could be her lifelong partner. His name is Antonio Luca Priolo and he will be the one to make her the mother of a little girl at the age of 15.
However, their love lasts only three years as in 2013, due to too much jealousy and possessiveness beyond all limits, the girl makes the difficult decision to leave him.
The decision to leave her daughter's father is followed by the meeting with another boy who finally makes her feel loved and free and with whom she falls in love. But her dream of a finally happy life was interrupted on October 6, 2015, when she was brutally killed. At the material time, her little girl was just 4 years old.
Giordana was killed exactly on the day of the preliminary hearing by the magistrate in the stalking proceeding resulting from her complaint against her ex-partner. The girl was killed with 48 stab wounds and bled to death a few hundred meters from her home. Priolo has always denied premeditation 
reiterating that the motive was to be connected to a raptus. For the murder of Giordana Di Stefano, which took place in Nicolosi, in the province of Catania, the former partner Antonio Luca Priolo was definitively sentenced to 30 years in prison on November 21, 2019.
“Jordan's house” was born in collaboration with the association “Io sono Giordana”, founded in 2017 in memory of Giordana Di Stefano. It will be a place where the inclusion of women victims of violence will be implemented, on a human, social and work level, as well as in the family, acting above all in contexts where children suffer witnessing violence.
