Rome, 27th April. (Adnkronos) – From Forza Italia to the PDL, a political loyalty that has endured for seventeen years: Beatrice Lorenzin, 42, from Rome, is the new Minister of Health. Lorenzin approaches politics in 1996, joining the Forza Italia youth movement in Lazio. The following year she was elected on the list of Fi to the Council of the XIII Municipality in the Capital. In 1999 he was the Lazio regional coordinator of the Forza Italia youth movement, which has 15,000 members and over 100 elected officials in local bodies.
In May 2001 she was elected city councilor in Rome. The only woman in the centre-right coalition, she is vice president of the commission for elected women and vice president of the Forza Italia council group. Between the end of 2004 and the middle of 2006 he was head of the technical secretariat of Paolo Bonaiuti, undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council for information and publishing in the Berlusconi III government. In May 2005 she was nominated regional coordinator of Fi for Lazio. From September 2006 to March 2008 he held the position of national coordinator of Forza Italia-Giovani per la Liberta'.
In 2008 she was elected to the Chamber with the PDL. At the beginning of the year, she was a candidate for the presidency of the Lazio Region for the centre-right, but gave way to Francesco Storace, former Governor from 2000 to 2005. In the political elections of 24 and 25 February, she was reconfirmed as a deputy in the Chamber on the lists of the PDL.
