The fifth regional health commission chaired by the president Michele Schiano Di Visconti, in the presence of the members of the commission and some category managers, unanimously decided to repeal the text of the law on the free management of pharmacists' shifts and also approved the regulation on the activity of scientific representatives, also providing for a specific enrollment and participation in the monitoring of the category activity. The commission met this morning to discuss the text of the law approved last December which sanctioned the liberalization of the hours and shifts of healthcare establishments. Pharmacists could freely manage the activity on holidays and at night.
The text has raised quite a few controversies from a slice of the category. The health commission with all its members has decided to repeal the text of the law. Therefore the legislation preceding the text of the law will be reactivated. In addition, the law on the activity of scientific representatives was approved according to the regional regulation on scientific information on medicines. Pharmaceutical companies intending to provide information on local medicines will have to communicate name, surname, data, start of activity of the scientific representatives, the territorial area in which they operate. In addition, the identification code of the company itself, the name of the scientific manager who reports to the scientific reps of the drug, the company pharmacovigilance manager. The informants must also be provided with an identification card. The performance of the activity within healthcare facilities will be ensured by the management of the facilities themselves (medical rooms, libraries) consultancy will not be allowed in the emergency departments. The number of visits of each ISF is set at a maximum of six per year.
The IFS will have to carry out the activity with the doctors by themselves. They will not be able to carry out any commercial activity. The delivery activity will also be carefully regulated.
