Giuseppe D'Aquila, 37 years old, full-time member of the union for 17 years, is the new secretary general of Filctem CGIL Sicily. Confirmed a few days ago provincial secretary of the category in Catania (he will keep the two positions) D'Aquila was elected at the end of the regional congress held today in Acitrezza.
"Filctem represents 28 highly strategic contracts: chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, manufacturing - underlined D'Aquila - and we represent the second region of Italy for the presence of chemical companies especially in the refining field, such as for example in Syracuse and Gela . The most important and strategic companies for the current and future industry of the country are Eni, Snam, Enel, Pfizer, Italgas, Sifi, Esso, as well as a myriad of other medium-small companies in the manufacturing sectors starting from the Plastic Rubber sector ( an example for all Dhaka) where we register a strong presence of companies throughout the Sicilian territory”.
Sicily is also a land where there is an important pharmaceutical hub.
