Drugs: Marino (Pd), resources for innovation come from generics
Health – A NEW PHARMACEUTICAL POLICY
The Italian pharmaceutical market is the third largest in Europe and the sixth in the world, and is equal to almost twenty-five billion euros. The sector absorbs approximately 20% of the resources of the national health fund. It is a crucial sector for the industrial structure of our country and should be highly valued and reoriented towards innovation and research. But to guarantee this, Italy must overcome the culture of emergency by allowing pharmaceutical companies to plan their activities over a period of 3-5 years, avoiding repeated and contradictory interventions that destabilize and make our country unreliable and unattractive for investments by large multinationals. The cultural conception of the drug only as a cost factor for healthcare must be overcome.
