On 7 December last, the Budget Commission of the Chamber approved the Government amendment (n. 82,028) which integrates the draft Finance Law for the year 2008 with art. 82-bis "National Commission for continuing education". Paragraph 1 of this article, among other things, says that "the national system of continuing education in medicine (CME) is regulated according to the provisions of the Agreement signed at the State-Regions Conference on 1 August 2007 containing the reorganization of the system of continuing education in medicine. In particular, the document determines the new composition and new tasks of the National Commission for continuing education; the involvement of professional orders as guarantors of the profession and certifiers of continuing education; the training credits which from 2008 must be acquired in the amount of 50 per year for a total of 150 credits in the three-year period 2008-2010; the introduction of further training methods (remote, in the field, self-training); the transition to provider accreditation (previously only individual events were accredited) which could be regional and national; the registration of training credits through the register of CME credits entrusted to Cogeaps (Consortium of health professions). from DOCTORNEWS 13-12-07
