Ferring: alleged bribes, investigated Cesare Cursi

The multinational Ferring would have allocated a bribe of 100,000 euros in 2005 to the then Undersecretary of Health Cesare Cursi, now the PDL National Head of Health, to have the anti-infertility drug Meropur (menotropin) registered with a refund of 3 euros more per vial. This is one of the indictment hypotheses on which the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office is moving, which has asked the Gip Gaetano Brusadi to temporarily ban the Italian division of Ferring from negotiating with the NHS. According to the indictment, the company would have made black funds for 2.7 million euros in 2002-2006 with false invoices to bribe doctors and favor the prescription of the growth hormone, Zomacton (somatropin). Investigations of about 150 doctors are underway. Cursi declares himself extraneous to the accusations made against him.
