There is a new alarm in the USA for medicines used to fight epilepsy. According to the Food and Drug Administration, according to which those who use them run the risk of committing suicide.More than 200 studies have been carried out since 2005 up to today 11 drugs, some of these used in the treatment of migraines or nervous disorders, for years on the market, widely consumed.
Patients analyzed and treated with these drugs were 28 thousand, 16,000 were instead subjected to treatment with neutral drugs, used to induce the placebo effect.
These are the results achieved: only 4 cases of suicide, even if the patients who had suicidal thoughts were double (0.43%) compared to those treated with "placebo" pills (0.22%). Given the percentages, the FDA has concluded that for every thousand patients, two have had the temptation to commit suicide.
