"We will arrive at a single candidate for the presidency of Farmindustria, with the support of all the components of the association". This was said yesterday in Rome at the Federanziani assembly within the Sanit by Pierluigi Antonelli, member of the Presidential Committee of Farmindustria. The private assembly on 22 June is just a few days away, during which Sergio Dompé's successor will be elected as president of the Italian pharmaceutical industry association. To date, there are three candidates left: Emilio Stefanelli, sole director of the Savio National Biochemical Institute, the candidate of the Italian associates of Farmindustria, Daniel Lapeyre, president and CEO of Sanofi Italia and indicated by the European component, and Massimo Scaccabarozzi, CEO by Janssen Italia, candidate of the American side of Farmindustria. In the interviews given to Pharmakronos in recent days, both Stefanelli and Scaccabarozzi had underlined the need to find an agreement on a single name before arriving at the meeting. An invitation that seems to be followed by the members, who prepare to vote for their new president.
