The revolt of the pharmacists starts from Naples. After a maneuver which, according to Federfarma, threatens to close its doors to one pharmacy out of four, the Neapolitan union led by Michele Di Iorio announces battle, pointing the finger at another passage of the measure to restore public finances which risks bringing pharmacies to their knees: the stop to the foreclosure of the local health authorities.
Thus, after the Region disregarded the agreement reached in December 2009 for the recovery of credits by the owners of pharmacies, today Di Iorio announces not only the lockout (the date of which will be ratified by the assembly), but admits that measures are being studied to request the extraordinary redundancy fund, in the wake of what was done by the consortium of public pharmacies in Salerno, for its employees.
A significant employment alarm if we consider that there are more than a thousand workers in the sector who are in real danger of losing their jobs.
To access the souls of Neapolitan pharmacists, already on a war footing for the maneuver, the agreement signed thanks to So.re.Sa spa in December 2009 with the ASL Na 1 Centro, under which, through the financial intervention of the Deutsche Bank, the pharmacy owners, subject to the release by the ASL of the relative certifications, would have recovered the payments in two tranches up to the month of December 2009. An agreement rejected by the Region.
“I unearthed a hatchet that I thought I had definitively laid down after the regional elections – affirms Di Iorio hard – I was sure, in fact, that the three commissioners of the ASL Napoli 1, 2 and 3 would have immediately implemented the programmatic signals of the Governor Stefano Caldoro.
Nothing has changed, everything has worsened, as much for the uncertainties of payments, as for the evanescence shown by Asl directors and managers ".
