Drugs: agreement signed between Aifa and Japanese authorities

(ASCA) - Rome, Nov 27 - A Memorandum of Understanding was signed yesterday in Manaus, Brazil, on the sidelines of the 7th Heads of Regulatory Agencies Summit, between the Director General of the Italian Medicines Agency Luca Pani, the Director of the Japanese Pharmaceutical Products and Medical Devices Agency (PDMA) Tatsuya Kondo, and the Director General of the Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Office of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW Jun Ebata. Aifa communicates it in a note.

The Agreement, which provides for an exchange of information between the two countries in the pharmaceutical sector, aims to facilitate access to safe, effective and quality medicines and to produce better results in the regulatory field. Communication between the signatory Authorities of the Agreement will be strengthened and consequently the ability to protect and promote the health and safety of the populations of the respective countries of origin will be improved.
