AGENPARL) – Rome, 11 April – Democrat Luciana Pedoto [photo], a member of the Social Affairs commission of the Chamber, presented a parliamentary question to the Minister of Health, Ferruccio Fazio to find out "what initiatives the government deems it should take to keep hospital pharmaceutical expenditure under control in order to prevent the overrun of the fixed ceiling falls on the budgets of the individual regions and ultimately on the citizens".
The question starts from the recent data of the Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa) which shows that hospital pharmaceutical expenditure has increased, compared to 2009, by as much as 1.6 billion euros and that the co-payment paid by the citizen flies to a +15.7% compared to 2009, reaching the figure of 806.9 million. “Data – concludes the democratic Pedoto – which deserve quick answers”.
