Recognition at the Strategic European Manufacturing Awards (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) – Milan, 02 Nov – The Irish production plant of Rottapharm|Madaus has won the most prestigious of the Strategic European Manufacturing Awards, an important acknowledgment that rewards companies that stand out for excellence in manufacturing processes
The European Manufacturing Awards includes 5 award categories and Rottapharm|Madaus was nominated by the jury in 3 of these. No other award entrant received more than one nomination. Therefore, the performance of Rottapharm Madaus, which received two awards, is particularly relevant. The first and most prestigious is the "SMA eF@ctory Hall of Fame", awarded for having achieved levels of absolute excellence in process and product innovation. This recognition is awarded by the eF@ctory Alliance, an association founded by Mitsubishi Electric and which constitutes a reference observatory for automation and industrial control scholars
Rottapharm Madaus was also awarded first prize in the "Outstanding Achievement in Continuous Improvement Award" category.
