(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) – Rome, August 19 – The Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck has announced a substantial restructuring plan which will lead to the dismissal of about a thousand employees, of which 300 in Denmark. The plan aims to reduce costs by 3 billion crowns ($400 million) by 2017 and is expected to affect one in 6 employees mainly "in headquarters and commercial operations in Europe and other markets," the company explained in a statement. Between April and June, Lundbeck recorded a net loss of SEK 3.9 billion while revenues for the quarter increased by 5% to SEK 3.63 billion. The new plan was well received by the Copenhagen Stock Exchange where the group's shares gained more than 11% in a downturn (-1.27%).
