"In the last 5 years, the sector has lost over 10,000 employees, including at least 7,000 scientific representatives"
"We do not agree with the statements recently released in an interview by the Minister of Health Balduzzi about the employment situation in the pharmaceutical sector, least of all as regards scientific representatives of the drug". To say it is Marco Falcinelli, national secretary of Filctem CGIL, who recalls how much the pharmaceutical sector has lost a total of over 10,000 employees in the last 5 years, including at least 7,000 scientific informants who - contrary to what the minister admonishes - certainly cannot be considered " second-class workers".
"The errors of the companies - continues the secretary - in pursuing in past years a policy strongly shifted towards the marketing of the drug, cannot today fall on a category of workers characterized by high professionalism and, it should be remembered, employees in all respects of the pharmaceutical companies themselves.
“The ISFs – recalls Falcinelli – must produce scientific information and nothing else, as companies would like to force them to do. On this and other subjects we are still waiting to be convened by the Ministry of Economic Development for the national discussion table on the pharmaceutical industry, which is also attended by the ministry of which Balduzzi is the head, to examine the consequences of the contents of the decree which his name, which today appear increasingly dramatic both in terms of employment and in terms of industrial settlements”.
