After the umpteenth episode of corruption or comparison, which saw the protagonists in Parma of pharmaceutical company executives (but no ISF !) and some doctors, even of national fame, the president of Farmindustria Dr Scaccabarozzi distanced himself from this criminal episode, with an examination which, although acceptable in terms of content, unfortunately is often not really implemented for a series of reasons...
In the meantime, let's see what Scaccabarozzi thought:
“Disappointment and bewilderment for the results of the Parma investigation. The distance that separates us from these behaviors is abysmal, because we have been engaged for years in a common path with doctors to build relationships of absolute transparency to protect health. With ethical standards and sanctions among the strictest in Europe”. With these words Massimo Scaccabarozzi, president of Farmindustria, comments on the Nas raid which in seven regions led to the arrest of 19 doctors and pharmaceutical entrepreneurs. “Illegal activities – continues Scaccabarozzi – must be fought with determination. And the Judiciary and Nas are doing very well in prosecuting them. All the more reason in a complex and delicate field such as that of health. Because you never play with the good of the patients. We are fully aware that episodes like these affect the reputation of the entire pharmaceutical industry. Which, I recall, offers a fundamental contribution to the research for new therapies, to the economy and to employment in the country. If, at the end of the judicial process, the responsibilities identified for now are confirmed, Farmindustria - in addition to hoping for severe sanctions - undertakes to seek damages from the entities involved due to the serious image repercussions on the entire sector”.
Nothing to complain about as I said in terms of form, but in substance it is exactly like this, or is the utterance of the president of Farmindustria seasoned as always with large doses of healthy hypocrisy?
In my opinion, dear Dr. Scaccabarozzi, hypocrisy rules once again, because it is true that companies in compliance with law 231/01 have adopted policies and a system of sanctions that make them perfectly "compliant", but in fact they have developed an organization and some systems that often lead some employees to disregard them.
And I'm not referring specifically to the events in Parma, where the criminals were not the SFIs, but the executives, towards whom the companies in any case often have, beyond the facade declarations, a more guaranteeing behavior, unlike when the SFIs are the offenders who are always fired on the spot, but to those situations in which the criminals are 
the informants.
Of course there is no justification for criminal behavior, but it should be stressed that often these are induced by those at the head of the company who claim to use the ISF commercially, setting often hyperbolic sales targets (challenging as they say in the pharmaceutical sector), thus clearly distorting what is the function of the ethical and socially useful role to which the ISF is in charge, otherwise we remain in the field of blah blah blah who leave whatever time they find….
Therefore, dear Scaccabarozzi, if companies want to contribute positively to the moral growth of the sector, they will really have to consider the ISF according to the provisions of the law on scientific information, and adequately instruct those who are responsible for coordinating the informants themselves in the area.
In the absence of this, episodes of comparison will always be possible, regardless of the policies and sanctions envisaged…..
I also give you a suggestion, it is right to ask for damages and bring a civil action against the criminals, but any compensation, even in the form of money, must be returned to the injured parties, who in this case, as in others, are the patients and not the pharmaceutical companies….
