“Bindi was not enough: now public health is discovering more and more every day that the Minister of reference is worse than the one before. We did not expect anything good from the old communisms, what Minister Turco wants to do in the field of public health is nothing but a reconfirmation. Indeed a viaticum for the "de profundis" of professionalism and the great value of public doctors ". Stefano Biasioli National President of CIMO-ASMD.
“It was well known that the Turkish Minister does not like the free medical profession in its various cases. It is equally well known that the Turkish Minister - despite the promises made to the medical unions in the June meeting - has done nothing for the real survival of the wider intramoenia free profession".
"The fact that the Turkish Minister does not know that the rules on the free medical profession are today a regional competence is in any case serious, even for a Centre-Left Minister".
This was stated by Dr. Stefano Biasioli, National President of CIMO-ASMD, who continues,
“There was and there would be plenty of time to prevent the free profession intramoenia enlarged LPIA from dying out on 31 July 2007. It would be enough to activate a State-Regions-OO.SS.Mediche table to define the state of application of the free profession in the various Regions and companies of Italy. It would take very little to demonstrate that, in more than 90% of Italian healthcare companies, the extended intramoenia free profession cannot die, because in the aforementioned companies there are no separate and distinct spaces for the free profession, both outpatient and for in-patients ".
“If this is the case, and it is, Turco's recent statements are an expression of bad faith and ideological prejudice. The Minister should know that CIMO-ASMD, which Bindi fought heavily on this not too long ago, is not willing to passively accept the death of the free profession and will use all legal and trade union means to prevent 2007 from being considered the year of the murder of a fundamental institution of the professional life of NHS doctors".
