“The global pharmaceutical sector is in excellent health and promises explosive growth rates” writes Il Sole 24 Ore. “According to Deloitte, in just three years drug sales will reach $1.6 trillion, which is 30% more than last year's turnover. Then there is a second piece of good news, and it concerns Italy: our country appears to be well positioned to acquire a fair share of this sector. The numbers of Farmindustria say it all: with a turnover of 29 billion in 2014, we are the second largest drug producers in Europe, behind Germany. But above all, the rate at which our exports are growing is the highest in the whole of the Old Continent. In 2014 alone, foreign sales of drugs produced in Italy grew by 72%.
